EeroUniversity of New Haven students and professors may have issues loading Canvas on their web browser and mobile phone app while connected to an Eero router.
Frontier communications currently uses Eero networking equipment, which may cause unloadable pages on Canvas.
The error, and how to resolve it:
If you do not have access to the Eero app...If you don't have access to the Eero app, please contact someone in your household who does to complete the below steps. If you are renting and do not have access to the app, please contact your landlord or have them contact Eero via phone call. - (877) 659-2347
How to acces Canvas on your home network with Eero networking equipment
Open the Eero phone app
Tap on “Discover” -> Tap on “eero plus” -> Tap on “Block and Allow Sites”
Tap on “Add Allowed Site”
A modal should pop up for you to input a domain name, enter canvas.newhaven.edu
Profiles: do not select any profiles, only select “network” to have this apply to the entire network
Turn on toggle that says “Allow for Network”
Select an allow reason to help us improve the product – Inaccurate Block
Tap Done, and it will ask you if you would like to add the additional domains for canvas. Press Yes or Save, and then Done again
Wait 30 seconds, then try to access canvas.newhaven.edu or the Canvas app
If it still doesn’t work, please wait 5 minutes before trying again
If it does not work after 5 minutes, please contact Eero customer support and ask them to unblock canvas.newhaven.edu from your network at (877) 659-2347
